We believe that anything can be achieved if you choose the right attitude. This is an important value that we expect staff and all adults who work with us to model and our children to learn throughout their time with us. The three main attitudes are related to uniform, attendance and behavior, but there are others.
“If you look smart,
you think smart”
This is one of our many sayings at Northern Saints. That’s why in Autumn 2013 we gave free uniforms to all of our pupils; supporting parents at this time of financial austerity. Similarly we expect staff to look equally smart. All members of our school community should be treated with mutual respect and follow the Uniform Policy and Staff Dress Code.
An excellent attitude to learn is that of attending school regularly and on time. If you choose Northern Saints you should expect to support our Attendance Policy. Similarly we don’t expect that our children should have to put up with frequent staff absence and changes of teacher that interrupt their learning, so we work to help our hard-working staff maintain a good work-life balance and follow the Staff Absence Procedure.
All children make mistakes and at our school we understand that children need to learn how to behave, supported and encouraged by adults and their friends. Outstanding behavior is expected and rewarded. We don’t put up with bullying in any form and nobody must feel embarrassed or worried about coming forward to tell us if it occurs. Our Discipline Policy links together our attitudes for success and describes the rewards and sanctions we use consistently across the school.
By choosing to send your child to us or wanting to work in our school you need to know these policies and that there is no choice for opting out – that way we can be sure that we will succeed in all we do. Our helpful Home-School agreement tells you more.
