In year 2 we have been learning about different things that were made in Sunderland. Due to Sunderland’s history of shipbuilding, we used construction kits to make models of ships and boats.
We explored and discussed what we thought boats and ships looked like.
Once we had made our models we talked to our partners about how we had made them.
We have been using bee bots to create algorithms and input algorithms into robots. Using algorithm cards the children created an algorithm for the beebot to follow a route to get from A to B. We then discussed the following:
Was this the quickest route?
If it wasn’t the children made another route and evaluated if this was a better/quicker route.
We are learning how to look after animals in science. As part of the Eco Extravaganza week the Reptile Ranges talked to us about our school reptiles, they explained how to care for them and what they eat.
