Year 4 children have recently been learning about our fantastic North East heritage. Talking to various visitors and interviewing people that worked in our local industry they have found out a great deal and said
“We feel proud of our past and want to be hard working too”
Some fabulous work with a specialist artist on pinhole cameras has resulted in some really interesting photos that the children have taken.

Did you know that the centre of the earth is a 900 mile wide ball of solid metal?
Did you know that the centre of the earth is a 900 mile wide ball of solid metal? Or that every single drop of water on the planet has been here since God created Adam? The water in your coffee is the same water Moses was drinking! How about that all around us, packed tightly into EVERY space is matter, which is made up of tiny atoms. These atoms are more than 100 times smaller than one of your hairs!
Year 4 have been discovering these and other fascinating facts about our amazing earth. We have been investigating states of matter and volcanoes this term, and have been amazed at what we have uncovered.
Along a similar theme, Year 4 have also been bringing the bible alive by investigating the facts behind tales of incredible faith. We have used drama to help us bring the story of King David`s rise to power to life; and created a life-size Goliath to get a real feel of how terrifying he must have been, and hence learn from David`s deep faith in God.
