Governors have recently met with the Diocese of Durham’s Director and Assistant Director of Education in relation to the Durham and Newcastle Diocesan Learning Trust (DNDLT), which is being offered to schools as an option within the Diocese who wish to consider becoming an academy.

As a consequence of this, and the continued debate and growth of academies in England, the Board of Governors have decided to look more closely into whether an academy model would be in the best interests of the children, teachers and staff at Northern Saints C of E Primary School. Governors would now like to consult more broadly with parents, carers, and the wider community as to the best way forward for the school.
